Today, India has recorded 26,382 new Covid-19 cases. According to the Union Health Ministry, the recovery rate is over 95 per cent.
With the latest record, India stands with 9, 951, 962 corona affected with 26,382 infections reported in a day. The death rate has risen to 1, 44,096 with 387 new fatalities as per the data.
It is the 269th day since the nationwide lockdown in India was implemented, to keep the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in check. With a total of 3, 32,002 active cases, the total caseload stand at 3.34 per cent. Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh have reported the highest number of cases, while in states like Kerala and West Bengal; the coronavirus infection is on the rise.
India has conducted 11.58 lakh tests in the last 24-hour cycle. Over 7.41 crore people have been affected by the novel coronavirus globally, with 16.47 lakh deaths so far. India remains to be the second worst-hit country with the pandemic worldwide after the US.
On Tuesday, the United States has authorized its first rapid at-home Covid-19 test that gives a result within 20 minutes. The test will be implemented in January 2021. If reports are to be believed, nearly a quarter of the total world’s population may not have access to the corona vaccine until 2022.
